Who Am I?

 

Born in Dún Loaghaire, Ireland on the 5th of October 1951, 

He had one sister, he was the only son, 

 

His mother passed when he was seven, 

He loved her and hoped she went to heaven, 

 

As a rebellious child his grades were not the best, quite poor, 

His dad not appeased, he wanted him to leave and opened the door, 

 

Formed in Dublin was the rock band Boomtown Rats and he was the singer, 

It was not very well known by the world and was quite a stinker. 

 

He saw news of famine in Ethiopia and decided he had to do his bit, 

He decided he would go to see what is was like to visit, 

 

The amount of death and despair encouraged him to start a fundraising concert, 

He informed people of the issue and concert named Live Aid and brought them to alert, 

 

The show was on in 1985 for one day attracting 1.9 billion viewers worldwide, 

When they heard the news about the famine, countless people cried, mourning those who died, 

 

The most famous performance was from the 'Queen' himself Freddie Mercury, 

The performance or should I say masterclass left him weary, 

 

In total the performance raised 127 million dollars for famine in Ethiopia, 

A place that before the concert was anything but utopia, 

 

After his charitable cause, in 1986 1 year after the concert he was knighted, 

This showed that the queen had seen his work and it was cited, 

 

Now he is 60, he is still quite sociable, 

Bob Geldof, a true notable.
